Just a quick note today to say, Happy New Year!

Last month I spent a day photographing objects and details from Ichi Oku House. Some of these things may end up in my performance, some may not. It was an interesting exercise exploring the closets and drawers and taking the time to really look at things (though I still can’t say I have looked at everything in the house). I put some of these photos in a rough storyline and created a separate Instagram account so that I can share them daily. I hope you’ll check it out and subscribe.

Although we were out of town for the first snow of the season, small piles were still left in shady areas of the yard the day that we closed up the house for the winter. Inside, the house had grown cold and quiet. With pipes wrapped up and the water shut off, we said goodbye for a couple of months and headed off to America.
While I’m in America I’ll be mostly focused on writing, sketching, and mapping out some plans for the coming year. When I return to Ichi Oku House in the spring I will be able to play around with some of these ideas in the space. I’m looking forward to sharing more of my progress with you then. In the meantime, please enjoy my photo story of objects and details from the house.
And, as always, thanks for your interest in my project.
